This Kingston 667MHz FB (Fully Buffered) DIMM kit is designed specifically for the Mac Pro. FB-DIMM memory is high quality RAM which Apple uses in it's Intel Xeon powered Mac Pro workstation.

These modules are compatible with all 667MHz Mac Pros (bus speed 1.33GHz), including the 8 core models. They are not compatible with second generation Mac Pros (introduced Jan 2008), which have a bus speed of 1600MHz and use 800MHz RAM.

The Mac Pro requires RAM to be installed in matched pairs. However the machine actually has 4 banks of 2 sockets, and for best performance Apple recommends using 4 matched RAM chips. This product contains 2 chips, so to take full advantage of your Mac Pro you should install 2 identical kits alongside each other.
