This is a PCI-Express card, which is the expansion card used in Apple Workstations from the PowerMac G5 Dual-Core onwards. These cards are only compatible with PCI-Express enabled computers, and will not work in older PCI or PCI-X based systems.

The card is both a FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 controller. It provides external FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 ports for the use of only one expansion slot.

Please be aware that a connection like FireWire or USB which is added via an expansion card will not provide the same level of electrical power as a built in connection. This means that devices such as portable hard drives or optical drives may require additional power by a mains adaptor.

This Sonnet Tango Express PCI-E card provides 2 additional FireWire 800 and 2 USB 2.0 ports to your PCI-Express based Mac Workstation.
