The MacBook Air was one of the first Macs to be converted to run the new ARM based Apple Silicon CPUs. Reception of the new machines was extremely positive with the new architecture delivering excellent performance and, especially, battery life.

Though not as powerful as the MacBook Pro machines, and limited to only 16GB of RAM, these MacBook Airs are still extremely powerful light-weight laptops.

These Macs are not upgradeable after purchase, though they have fast Thunderbolt and USB connectivity that allows extremely quick external storage to be used.
