The MacBook Air was launched in 2008 as Apple's entry into the ultraportable/subnotebook market. These early models made some fairly major sacrifices in terms of portability, having no DVD drive at a time when the format was ubiquitous for software installation and sharing of data, and mostly shipped with a 4200RPM hard drive with a 1.8" platter and 2GB of non-upgradeable RAM.
The drives these machines are upgradeable, but the RAM is not, and this 2GB RAM limit made them unattractive machines to keep running more than a few years after purchase.
We can offer repair services for these machines, though we do not consider them worthwhile machines to spend money on.
