MacBook - Upgrade & Repair
The MacBook brand really covers two different ranges of machines. Between 2006 and 2010, consumer targeted laptops were sold under this name as a cheaper alternative to the MacBook Pro, but the line was discontinued as by around 2012 the MacBook Airs had come to fill the role of the main MacBook Pro alternative.
Then between 2015 and 2017, the MacBook brand was resurrected as the MacBook Retina - a range of extremely lightweight laptops that were positioned somewhat similarly to the original MacBook Air.
All these machines have a 12" screen and are extremely lightweight. Various colours were made: silver, gold, rose-gold, grey. These MacBooks are designed as ultraportables.
MacBook 2006 - 2010
The consumer Mac laptop between 2006 and 2010. These Macs all have 13" screens and were sold in either white or black plastic bodies, except for a silver cased model released in late 2008 that looks almost identical to a 13" MacBook Pro Unibody (apart from the text under the screen saying "MacBook" rather than "MacBook Pro").
