MacBook Air 2018 - 2020

In 2018 Apple redesigned the MacBook Air and added grey and gold colour options to the traditional silver. The machine moved to Thunderbolt 3 (which are also USB-C) ports and dropped the old-style Type A USB 3 ports.

The 2018 and 2019 models use the unpopular "butterfly" keyboard, while the 2020 has the more reliable "scissor" style switches. Problematic butterfly keyboards are covered by an Apple service program for 4 years after purchase.

These Macs are entirely non-upgradeable internally, with the drives soldered to the logic board as well as the RAM. Data recovery is also therefore impossible if the logic board fails and cannot be repaired. They do have fast Thunderbolt and USB connectivity that allows extremely quick external storage to be used

We offer repair services for these machines, with logic board repair as well as replacement of other components.
